A-2は1930年代に米国陸軍航空隊で使用されたミリタリージャケットです。

第二次世界大戦時に米陸軍飛行兵に着用されたパイロットジャケットで、フライトジャケットの中でも最高峰に位置づけされているA2ジャケットは航空兵の宝物でもありました。

一時廃止されたものの飛行兵達の熱烈な要望により復活される等、大変人気の高いジャケットです。

この製品は、Rough Wear Clothing Co.(ラフウェア社製)のContract, W535-ac-27752のA-2復刻モデルをベースに、第91爆撃航空軍・第323爆撃飛行隊 B-17G ノーズアート「シュガーブルース」仕様にカスタムされたA-2レザーフライトジャケットです。

ビンテージミリタリーウェアの要素を随所に盛り込みつつも、テーラーメイドの繊細なシルエット、ディテール、縫製を取り入れ、街着として着易い洗練されたスタイリッシュでファッショナブルなデザインに仕上げられています。

表地素材は馬革(本革ホースハイド)です。

身頃裏地と袖裏地は、コットン100%のブロードクロス(ポプリン)です。

高密度に織られた薄手生地で、インナーウェアとの摩擦を考慮した袖通しの良い生地です。

袖口と裾部分はダブルレイヤー(二重)リブで切替えられています。

袖口のリブは織りの組成をローゲージからハイゲージに変えることで程よいフィット感を生み出します。

フロントはジップアップで、ジッパーにはWar Time TALON(タロン)ファスナーが使用されています。

ジッパーのスライダー引手部分には、グローブや手袋などをしていても、簡単に開閉が可能になるよう考慮されたレザーのタブが付きます。

ジッパーの前には比翼(ウインドフラップ/ストームフラップ)が付き、風が侵入してくるのを防いでくれるつくりになっています。

ウエスト部分には隠しスナップボタン付きのフラップポケットが設けられています。

襟は、台襟付きでラフウェア社らしい美しいフォルムを持っています。

襟先には隠しスナップボタンが付き、襟をボタンダウンのように留めることができます。

ネックには風の侵入を防ぐフック(カラークリップ)が付けられていますが、着用時は窮屈なため閉じて着用する者は殆どいなかったとされています。

脇下には湿気逃しのための鳩目穴(アイレット)が付けられています。

両肩には縫い付け式のエポーレット(肩章)が設けられています。
